Sales and Programme Manager - Automotive

With sales of €30m, the company is part of an extremely well regarded, market-leading international group.  Renowned for its high level of technical expertise, the UK business manufactures a range of superior quality trim components and holds strong positions with a variety of automotive OEMs.  As a result of an internal promotion, it now seeks to appoint a high calibre individual to spearhead its business development strategy.

The Challenge:

Reporting to the Managing Director, to lead the drive for profitable sales growth with both existing and targeted new customers.

To provide leadership to a committed team of Engineers and Programme Managers ensuring that their development needs are identified and met.        

To promote the company’s technical expertise and manufacturing capabilities to decision-makers within automotive OEMs, enabling you to exploit new sales opportunities.

To develop strong working relationships at all levels with customers through your excellent communication and influencing skills.

To support the MD in developing and implementing a sales strategy in order to establish a presence with U.S. OEMs.

The Candidate:

Should already have attained a senior sales/business development/account management capacity with a first tier automotive supplier.

Must be able to demonstrate how you have achieved increased, profitable sales from leading automotive OEMs.

Will ideally be educated to degree level in a technical/engineering-based discipline, which will enable you to discuss a wide range of technical issues with customers.

Must possess a high degree of commercial acumen with experience in financial cost analysis and product costings.

Should have high levels of energy and drive and will be comfortable operating within a fast-paced and dynamic environment.

The command of an additional language, ideally French, would be advantageous, although it is not essential.
