With applications in a variety of demanding industries including automotive, construction and energy, the company is a manufacturer of specialist products and part of a major international group with circa 200,000 employees and global sales in 2009 of c€38bn.  Recognising that its ability to innovate is key to its continued success, the company has created this new position to drive product strategy for a range of technical, performance-based products.


The Challenge:

Reporting to the Business Manager – Europe, you will be fully responsible for the development and implementation of product marketing plans, ensuring that the product range maximises sales, market share and profitability.

To lead new product development projects, identifying and developing product opportunities which will result in profitable sales growth whilst making recommendations for range rationalisation.

To liaise with colleagues on a global basis, providing information on the product range to ensure that UK products are promoted internationally.

To provide technical advice and support to customers and to the sales team.

To enjoy a considerable degree of autonomy and scope for personal initiative as the principal commercial and technical product resource on site.

The Candidate:

Should ideally be educated to at least HND level, preferably in an engineering/scientific discipline.  Additional qualifications in marketing would also be beneficial and will complement a high degree of commercial acumen.
     
Your background will include previous experience in a marketing/product management capacity with responsibility for product strategy and NPD activities in a business to business environment.

You must demonstrate that you have increased market share through product lifecycle management from NPD to successful product launch.

With excellent communication skills, you can deliver to a wide variety of audiences with the levels of energy, drive and ambition required to take advantage of career development opportunities.

You should be IT literate with a good knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.
