National Sales Manager

Flexible Location
£60k + bonus, car and benefits

Since its establishment in 1974, the Federation of Small Businesses has developed an enviable reputation as a highly effective pressure group, campaigning on a wide range of issues on behalf of its 200,000+ members.  The most quoted business representative organisation in Westminster and with extensive press coverage, it continues to play a vitally important role in representing the interests of and championing the UK’s small business sector.  It is now looking to recruit a high-calibre Sales Leader into this newly-created position.

The Role:

This is a key position in which you will be responsible for the development and implementation of a sales strategy which will maximise revenue through recruiting new members to the FSB.  It should also support membership retention by ensuring that new members are fully aware of the excellent range of member benefits and are engaged with the ethos and values of the organisation.

Critical to your success will be your leadership and direction of a national team of commission-only, self-employed sales agents.  Having developed minimum performance indicators, you should ensure that the team is trained and motivated to achieve and exceed the required standards and that best practice is promoted across the organisation.

Developing innovative methods to attract new members, you should ensure that close cooperation exists between Regional Operation Teams and the sales function, maximising all opportunities to raise the profile of the FSB and promoting the benefits of membership.  Additionally, you will play an important role in terms of gathering market information in order that the Member Services Team can ensure that the FSB offering continues to provide members with superb value for money.

The Candidate:

Candidates must have a successful track record in a national senior  sales management position.  It is essential that you have experience of leading commission-only, self-employed teams on a national basis and you will be able to demonstrate how your leadership style, ability to motivate and influence has enabled you to inspire your team to deliver improved performance.

Whilst experience in a membership/representative body would be advantageous, it is not essential, although an appreciation of the issues faced by the small business sector is important.

To apply for this newly-created position, which represents a significant yet rewarding challenge, please submit your CV, quoting Ref. No. EM4711, to: Roger Ruane at FR Europe, Church House, 3 Church Walk, Newark, Notts. NG24 1JS.   Email: infonew@freurope.com.
