Training, Learning & Development Manager

North West
to £40k plus benefits

Established in 1960, Unilin is now recognised as a global leader in the design and manufacture of laminate flooring systems and more recently, Parquet flooring.  Its Quick-Step brand is synonymous with quality, style and innovation and holds a market-leading position in the UK.  With 4,300 staff and sales exceeding €1.1bn, Unilin continues to outperform the market through its wide range of high quality products and customer-focused approach.

It is now embarking on an exciting new venture in the UK, the Quick-Step Academy.  Due to be launched in Spring 2012, it is being established to provide first-class training for floor fitters in order to raise standards, drive loyalty to the Quick-Step brand and to encourage floor fitters to become true ambassadors for Quick-Step products.

In the role, you will be responsible for developing the Quick-Step Training Academy and consolidating Unilin Flooring’s reputation as a leading and innovative company.  Assuming responsibility for the day-to-day management of the Academy, you will work in close cooperation with the Technical and Marketing Teams in the development and delivery of both practical and theory-based training courses for installers of wood, laminate, engineered flooring products and accessories resulting in the installers achieving accreditations and becoming true brand ambassadors.

In addition to the training aspects, your role will have a customer-facing element in terms of promoting the Academy through presentations and meetings with customers and prospects which will include contractors, retailers, distributors and installers.

Your experience should have been gained in the flooring industry with an excellent knowledge of floor laying (laminate and engineered wood products) which will allow you to quickly build credibility with installers.

Your first-class technical and practical flooring knowledge will ideally be supported by a recognised floor fitting qualification and you are likely to have progressed into a role with responsibility for training.

Previous experience of running a business or cost centre would be desirable, although additional management training will be provided to candidates who possess the relevant practical experience coupled with excellent communication skills, ambition and the drive to succeed in this exciting opportunity.
